Less Busywork, Better Hiring: What's New in Lever

There’s no such thing as “one quick thing” in recruiting.

Schedule an interview? That’s calendars to compare, emails to send, people to follow up with, and details to double-check.

Review a stack of applications? That’s hours spent sorting through hundreds of applications trying tofigure out who has the right skills, who’s worth a closer look, and what’s just AI slop.

And once you’ve found the right person, there’s still an entire onboarding checklist waiting for you.

And all those little tasks add up to a pretty big chunk of your day.

That’s the kind of work we’ve had our eye on at Lever.

Because your recruiting tech should be doing more than keeping up with your hiring team. It should be taking work off their plate.

Our latest releases do exactly that, with smarter ways to get things done, move candidates forward, and keep hiring on track.

Let’s get into what’s new.

Fewer Clicks, More Completed Applications

When you've got someone interested in your job, the last thing you want is to lose them halfway through the application.

With Direct Apply, candidates can apply right from supported job boards like LinkedIn and Indeed, without being redirected to a separate application page.

It's one less step for candidates to deal with and one less opportunity for them to abandon the application before hitting submit.

Better Fit. Better Hires. Better Teams.

Picture this: You've got 100 applications sitting in your queue, ready to review. Some candidates have everything you're looking for. Some are pretty close. Others have a few of the right skills, butaren't quite checking all the boxes.

Now you've got the task of sorting through that pile to figure out who's got what. And suddenly, there goes your afternoon.

We're making that part a little easier.

With Talent Fit, you get a clearer picture of how closely each candidate matches what you're looking for.

Each candidate gets a percentage score based on how well their skills and credentials match your job description. You can sort and filter by score, compare candidates, and get a better sense of who's in your applicant pool without spending hours going through resumes by hand.

And let's say someone scores an 85%. Does that mean you should automaticallypass on them for someone who scored a 95%?

Not necessarily.

Maybe they've got experience you really like. Maybe the skills they're missing are things you can teach. That's the kind of stuff a percentage isn't going to tell you.

And that's why you're still the one making the call. We're just making it a little easier to get the information you need before you do.

Take Interview Scheduling Off Your To-Do List

On average, how many back-and-forth emails, phone calls, and Slack pings does it take to set up an interview?

Short answer: Too many.

In fact, our 2026 Recruiter Nation Report found that 29% of recruiting teams cite scheduling and rescheduling interviews as a source of avoidable delays in the hiring process.

And if you've ever spent half your afternoon trying to find 30 minutes that work for everyone, that probably doesn't come as much of a surprise.

But when scheduling is a manual task, there's often no way around it

You need the candidate’s availability. Then the interviewer’s. Then someone’s calendar changes. Then you’re back to finding a time that works for everyone. Multiply that by every candidate, interviewer, and open role, and suddenly scheduling is taking up a pretty big chunk of the day.

So, we decided to end the endless back-and-forth. With Lever Assisted Scheduling. Here’s how it works:

  1. It recommends interviewers based on the interview plan
  2. Checks availability
  3. Holds up to three time slots for 72 hours
  4. Drafts the candidate email using an existing template

All that's left? The recruiter reviews and sends.

Fewer scheduling gymnastics. Fewer “does Tuesday at 2 work?” emails. More time for the parts of recruiting that actually need a recruiter.

The Onboarding On-Ramp: A Smoother Path to Day 1

Laptop. Payroll. Paperwork. Policies. Introductions. Training.

“Welcome to the team” comes with a pretty long to-do list.

And that list isn’t just long for your new hire. Behind every form to complete and box to check, there’s someone on your team making sure it gets sent, signed, collected, and moved to the right place.

That's a lot to keep track of, especially when you're onboarding multiple people at once.

So, we're making it easier to manage more of that process right in Lever, with newonboarding updates that help your team stay on top of the details and get new hires ready for day one.

Recruiters confirm a new hire's location up front, so you avoid the costly mistake of filing the wrong tax forms and your new hire gets the right paperwork for a seamless start. Improved location handling helps ensure employee information is accurately captured and passed through the onboarding process, so whether your team is distributed across two locations or 200, you don't have to worry about missing a beat.

And with enhancements like Single Sign-On and multi-location support, teams can create a more seamless onboarding experience while reducing all of the to-dos that pop up on the onboarding checklist.

Leveling Up the Lever Experience

We're also making some smaller improvements to Lever that should make big a difference in your day-to-day work.

  • More flexibility: We've added more triggers and the ability to combine conditions using AND/OR logic, so you can get more specific about when automations run.
  • Better control and visibility:See and cancel scheduled automated emails right from a candidate's profile.
  • Less hassle: Connect multiple DocuSign accounts within the same Lever environment, adjust text field widths in offer letters, and have signing dates filled in automatically. Plus, designated required fields help make sure important information doesn't get missed.

Hiring Tech Built for Hiring Teams

There's a lot that goes into making a hire. And a whole lot of little things that can slow you down along the way.

The back-and-forth to get an interview on the calendar. Chasing down feedback. Sorting through applications to figure out where to start. Making sure candidates aren't left wondering what's going on.

And that's all before you get to the actual work of getting to know people and finding the perfect fit for your open role.

We know recruiters have enough on their plates. And hiring managers, interviewers, and candidates all have their own part to play, too. The last thing anyone needs is technology making things more complicated.

And that’s exactly why we’vebeen working on updates to Lever that make those everyday tasks a little easier. Less clicking around, less chasing people down, and fewer things you have to keep track of yourself.

Hiring will always have a lot of moving pieces. We're just making it easier to keep them moving.
