Lever's Talent Innovation Summit 2017: What to Expect

On September 18th, exactly 54 days from now, hundreds of recruiting leaders, recruiters and other talent community members will gather in downtown San Francisco for the kickoff of Lever’s second Talent Innovation Summit. We’re pumped to showcase the innovative tips, tricks and strategies used by talent leaders at companies like Medallia, Illumination Entertainment, KPMG New Zealand, Lyft, Bazaarvoice, Cirque du Soleil and HotelTonight, to name a few.

In no particular order, here are some of the things you can expect when you join us in September:

Expect a little recruiting magic. If you've ever been to a Cirque du Soleil show, you've come to expect something magical. This time last year though, the company's recruiting approach wasn't necessarily delivering on that promise for candidates or team members. We can’t wait to go behind the scenes with Xavier Poulin-Gladu, who heads up recruiting strategy and candidate experience at Cirque du Soleil. He'll share how one of the world’s most intriguing brands is currently redesigning every single point of contact with their current and future employees.

Expect panels with teeth. As mentioned previously, conference panels are tough to get right - so if you spot one on our agenda, it’s because we think that format will significantly enhance the dialogue. Whether it’s our mainstage panel featuring heads of talent sharing war stories on “How to Crush Your Next HR Tech Implementation”, or our “D&I 2.0: Today’s Toughest Questions” panel during the Diversity and Inclusion Forum, liveliness is guaranteed.

Expect hands-on sourcing help for your toughest req. Our friends Jer Langhans and James Temple from Paired Sourcing will be on standby to do a mini sourcing sprint on one of your hardest-to-fill reqs. You’ll be able to book a 20 minute time slot during the Summit to pair up and get that pipeline brimming!

Expect inspiration on your toughest talent acquisition challenges. Aside from devoting an entire afternoon to diversity and inclusion - which we know is an uphill battle for many organizations - we’ve oriented our breakout sessions around key areas that we know are a challenge for talent leaders everywhere. Whether you’re eager to improve your organization’s ability to source and pipeline game-changing talent, or leverage data analytics to improve talent acquisition, or lobby for more resources for your TA team, we’ll be featuring expert practitioners who can tell you, in detail, how they’re achieving success.

Expect a couple of timeless classics in the mix. Our conference theme may be innovation, but there's no substitute for nailing the fundamentals of recruiting. Whether it's knowing how to be at your productive best as a recruiter, or leveraging your networks as the primary source of top candidates, join us for timeless advice from two of the best known and respected speakers in the industry: Stacy Donovan Zapar, and Lou Adler. Back to back, in one breakout room. Get ready!

Expect Lever’s premier integration partners to be out in full force. During breaks, you’ll mingle with the crowd on the terrace in our partner showcase area. Expect GIFs. Okay, this one I haven’t figured out just yet… but Lever has something of a history… dare I say a love affair… with GIFs. We managed to work them into the program last year. How we’ll repeat that is anyone’s guess at this stage - feel free to influence our decision by tweeting your ideas to #talentinnovation - but just know that somehow, somewhere, GIFs are likely to feature. Also be warned that if there’s any sort of GIF contest, Quinn Morrison and her team over at Coverhound will be hands-down favorites to win.
