Oscar season may be over (and my, it ended with a confusing whimper rather than a bang)… but rest assured we’ve got all kinds of compulsory viewing lined up for you in the next 3 weeks. Here’s a quick rundown of four fun opportunities to catch up with Lever in the first half of March:
March 1: How Culture Shapes Recruiting at Netflix (webinar – join us wherever you are!)
People teams and consumers alike remain endlessly fascinated by Netflix. Need a proof point? The company’s famous culture deck has drawn a staggering 15 million online views to date.
We can’t wait to go behind the scenes with Engineering Recruiter Sydney Busch and learn more about how Netflix leverages that culture throughout their recruiting process. If you’re looking to stimulate some fresh thinking in your recruiting programs, you’ll want to tune in. Sydney gave us these three fascinating facts as a teaser:
- Recruiting is not responsible for making hires at Netflix
- They don’t have a recruiting process, so they can move as fast or as slow as a candidate needs
- There’s no set headcount budget – either on a candidate’s salary, or on the number of heads they hire

March 2: The Talent Innovation Roadshow (Chicago)
Lever hits the road! We’ll be in Chicago this Thursday to discuss the latest trends in talent innovation with corporate talent acquisition leaders and influencers. Our program runs from 2:00pm through 6:30pm and features an incredible line-up of speakers including Robin Erickson, Bersin by Deloitte’s research VP focused on talent acquisition, engagement and retention presenting her latest research on candidate sourcing; a panel of experts discussing the all-important topic of candidate experience; and Lever customers sharing how they’ve successfully made hiring a strategic priority at their companies.
There’s still time to register – we hope to see you there!
March 15: Startup Hiring Bootcamp (Lever HQ in San Francisco)
Registration is now closed.
As a growing startup, one of the most difficult things to nail is hiring. How do you know whether you’re any good at it? What tips, techniques and strategies should you use?
We’re hosting dozens of CXOs and talent leaders from the Bay Area’s most progressive startups for an exclusive event in which we’ll go deep on the hot topic of talent and recruiting.
Our speakers include talent leaders and executives sharing from experience how to get recruiting right as you scale, as well as some of the top VCs delving into the mistakes they’ve seen portfolio companies make. We’ll also share some brand new Lever benchmarks on conversion rates throughout your recruiting funnel, so you’ll know how you stack up against other organizations.
We hope you were able to join us on March 15th from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Please note this event was exclusively for corporate talent leaders and executives.
March 15: The Startup Guide to Recruiting and Retaining Top Talent (webinar – join wherever you are!)
If you can’t be in San Francisco on the 15th for our live bootcamp, the next best bet is tuning in to our webinar in association with our friends and integration partners at BambooHR. We’ll be joined by a recent-candidate-turned recruiter from Spark Lifecare for a fast-paced session that looks at startup recruiting from both sides of the table – company and candidate.
So there you have it: four ways to catch up with Lever by the middle of March. I can’t promise you won’t still be humming ‘City of Stars’ by the time we’re done, or have forgotten about #envelopegate – but hopefully you’ll pick up some fresh recruiting and talent inspiration along the way.
